Gorgeous and rare 1950s dress with abstract and floral print and a large sweep. Made in USA. This is from my personal collection, I purchased it in 1989 and have had it all this time.
Features a faux crossover bodice, princess seams, a v-neckline in front, a deep scoop neckline in back, short cuffed sleeves, POCKETS, a snap-on belt in back with buttons and a flat waist without a seam in the front (waist has a seam and pleats on the skirt in back). This dress is the perfect example of "they don't make 'em like they used to". It has an absolutely beautiful color combo; a deep eggplant/purple with dark and white streaks and a bright red abstract floral design. Figure flattering and oh so eye-catching.
The fabric feels like a lightweight, flowy taffeta, it drapes like a dream and makes the nicest "swishing" sound when you move. Pictured here with a modest crinoline. Crinoline not included.
Excellent vintage condtion: no holes, tears, or repairs. The metal zipper works great, the seams are strong and the colors are vibrant. There is a tiny stain on the belt and some very faint fading under the arms, neither of which are noticeable when worn.
Truly an amazing and rare example of a favorite decade for fashion!
Professionally dry cleaned and ready to wear.
